Here is a fun way to honor the 169th birthday of George Hermann, namesake of Houston’s Hermann Park. The Hermann Park Conservancy will be hosting a birthday party Monday, August 6, from 10 am – 6 pm. Take advantage of $1.69 discounted train tickets for kids 12 and under (just $3 for those 13 and older) on the Hermann Park Railroad near the Houston Zoo. The day also features $1.69 soft-serve ice cream at Pinewood Cafe, free painting from 11 am – 3 pm, and a kid’s coloring contest. This all takes place in Hermann Park near the Houston Zoo.
