Barkitecture Houston: Yappy Hour, Designer Dog Houses Raise Funds for Pup Squad October 26-27
posted by Vicki Powers on October 18, 2012

Let that creativity shine! Houston’s designers, architects, and builders have come together once again to showcase their talent — and help raise funds for a wonderful pet rescue organization.

Barkitecture Houston kicks off next weekend, October 26-27, as a unique fundraising event benefiting Pup Squad Animal Rescue. Architects and designers partner together to build creative yet functional dog houses that are later sold through silent auction. The dog houses are on display from noon– 5 pm Saturday. Special events include a Yappy Hour Friday, October 26, (5 pm – 9 pm) with your pooch at McCormick & Schmick’s in Houston Pavilions Center Court and the silent auction of designer dog houses Saturday, October 27, created by Houston creative teams. With more than 30 entries this year, this 4th annual event is expected to be its best fundraising effort yet! The photo, left, is one of this year’s dog house entries from Rottet Studio.

This free event encourages you to bring your pooch — on a leash, of course. Located at Houston Pavilions, 1301 Main Street.
