Here is my list of restaurants and retailers who are providing some Mother’s Day discounts and freebies in Houston this year:

Freebirds World Burrito — Freebirds is celebrating Mother’s Day with its “Nacho Mama” special. Get Monster Nachos for the price of regular nachos, which can easily feed two people. This deal is available in Texas and Oklahoma locations only.

Champps Americana — Moms who eat at Champps Mother’s Day weekend (May 11-13) will receive a reusable card for $10 off a $25 purchase on the first of each month all year. While supplies last.

TCBY – The yogurt chain is providing free yogurt for moms once again on Mother’s Day, May 13, but only at specific locations. It’s not a national promotion this year. These Houston-area locations will be giving away free small frozen yogurt to moms: Kirby, San Felipe, Friendswood, The Woodlands Mall, and Panther Creek Shopping Center in The Woodlands. Katy and Champion Forest are not participating, per my phone calls. Still trying to get in touch with Memorial City Mall.

Bayou Bend — Moms and grandmothers get free admission Saturday and Sunday (May 12-13) for Mother’s Day plus a free gift from The Shop at Bayou Bend. Guests with mom can get in for half price adult admission– just $5 each. Children under 12 are free. Bayou Bend’s gardens and two floors of the house are open for tours from 1 pm – 5 pm. Enjoy light refreshments, food trucks, and a musical performance by harpist Sandra Salstrom. Bayou Bend is located at 6003 Memorial Drive at Westcott.

McCormick & Schmick’s — Moms get complimentary chocolate truffles on Mother’s Day. The Brunch menu starts at $14.95 for adults and $7.95 for kids.

Walgreens — Get a free 8×10 enlargement at Walgreens for mom. Use code FREE4ME at checkout online. Good through May 12, 2012.

Starbucks — Sunday, May 13, is the last day for Half-Price Frappuccino Happy Hour at Starbucks. Go between 3 pm – 5 pm for this freebie.

Redbox — Give a free Redbox DVD rental to anyone who is a mom (or has a mom). Simply send an e-card through Facebook. The free rental promo code will be valid on May 13 only. You must log in through Facebook and install the app.
