Cheap Summer: Free/$1 Movies at Cinemark, Studio Movie Grill, Edwards Marq*e, AMC, Silverado

TODAY is the last day of school in Cy Fair ISD.  Yikes!  What to do with the kids all summer?  Here are some free and cheap movie festivals offered this summer in Houston.

Free Family Film Festival at Edwards Houston Marq*e 23: Catch these FREE family-friendly flicks every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. this summer beginning June 8.  The first week kicks off with Kit Kittredge, American Girl and The Spy Next Door.

Summer Movie Clubhouse at Cinemark:  Movies are just $1 weekday mornings at two Houston Cinemark locations. Or get 10 movies for only $5 paid in advance. The Cinemark 16 at Memorial City Mall features Wednesday morning shows kicking off with Madagascar 2 on June 9.  The Tinseltown 290 location features Wednesday morning shows beginning June 9 with Shrek the Third.

Summer Children’s Series at Studio Movie GrillKids are only $1 at Studio Movie Grill this summer.  Catch the 11 a.m. show Monday through Thursday beginning the June 7 through August 16 week.  Both Copperfield and CityCentre locations are participating.  Horton Hears a Who kicks off the first week.  Adults are $2 to the 11 a.m. show.

AMC Theaters’ Summer MovieCamp:  Cheap movies continue at AMC Theaters this summer as part of the Summer MovieCamp.  Movies are only $1 every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. from June 15 to August 10.  Seven participating theaters in Houston include Deerbrook, First Colony, Fountains, Gulf Pointe, Katy Mills, Studio 30, and Willowbrook.  Purchase KidsPack concession combo at $4, which is 30 percent off.  Shrek the Third kicks off the first week.

Free Summer Movies at Santikos Theatres: Catch a free movie for six weeks this summer at Silverado 19 IMAX in Tomball on Hwy. 249.  The Summer Movie Series kicks off June 21 with free movies Monday through Thursday at 11 a.m.  The first week kicks off with Ice Age 3.

    The Woodlands Cinemark Tinseltown is also doing the 10 Movies for $5 thing.

    Plus, Movie Tavern is doing a all you can eat Pancake breakfast every Saturday morning at 9am.Not so cheap, but it sounds like fun!
