Houston’s City Hall Farmers Market is winding down a successful season today with its final market of the year. This downtown market, run by Urban Harvest in partnership with City of Houston, features 35 local vendors selling produce and food items 11 am – 2 pm along City Hall’s reflection pool. The variety ranges from farmers, food trucks, to top local chefs. Live music this week features Viva Voce Victorian Carolers to get you in the holiday spirit.
The Market provides the best local lunch downtown with farmers’ fresh produce, cheeses, coffee, breads, a variety of prepared foods, desserts, and food trucks.
Local chefs run cooking demonstrations at the Market each week in the Chef’s Corner. This week features Quattro Four Seasons Restaurant chef Maurizio Ferrarese performing cooking demos on site and sharing samples.
While downtown folks can walk over, those driving in can park at metered street parking, at Hobby Center (800 Bagby) for just $2 per hour (when no Hobby events take place) or Tranquility Park garage (400 Rusk) at $6 for one to two hours.
The market will re-open February 27, 2013.
