Local fall favorite Dewberry Farm is opening this weekend. I sure wish the weather would cool off to feel like fall! The country fun located outside of Katy (in Brookshire) features more than 30 attractions including an eight-acre pumpkin patch, a replica 80-passenger Southern Pacific Railroad locomotive (new this year), “thoroughbred” Pig Races, wagon rides, zip lines, wildflower bouquet picking, pony rides, Punkin’ Hollar with 500 lighted hand-carved pumpkins, its annual Corn Maze and more! Admission is 50% off opening weekend, September 29-30, at just $6 for ages 3+.
Dewberry Farm has created another fabulous eight-acre corn field maze. This year’s design features “You CAN Vote” — simply bring a can of corn or beans to vote for your favorite CAN-didate. In return, you’ll receive a $1 token for use anywhere at the farm. The farm hopes to collect 25,000 cans to stock local food banks.
Price is $12 for ages 3-54 with children 2 and under free (or $6 for the half-price fee opening weekend and the first two weekends of November). Seniors 55+ are $9, and military and law enforcement are $10. Some activities require an additional charge. If you love Dewberry Farm, then consider the Season Pass for unlimited visits this season for only $20! The farm is open Saturdays (10 am – dusk) and Sundays (noon – dusk) through November 11. Dewberry Farm, 7705 FM 362 and Morrison Road in Brookshire. A map is online here.
