Earth Day 2009: Free Lightbulbs, Reusable Bags

Target reusable tote bagDON’T MISS THE FREE STUFF for Earth Day this year!  Several retailers are participating in Earth Day specials this weekend — or on the actual day, April 22.

Home Depot:  The home improvement retailer is giving away 1 million FREE CFL light bulbs beginning April 19, while supplies last.  Also Buy-One-Get-One-Free herb peat pots, seed packets, and free water-saving aerator insert.

Target:  Head to your local Target to get your FREE Target re-usable red tote bag, with purchase, while supplies last, on April 19.  Each tote includes a $2 coupon for GE Energy Smart compact fluorescent light bulbs (or CFLs).

Disney:  Bring in three water bottles to any Disney store on Earth Day, April 22, and guests will receive a free reusable water bottle, while supplies last.   Disney stores will be offering a variety of activities to inspire families to recycle and conserve.  It’s all part of their “Recycling is Magic Project.”

H.E.B.:  Bring in five plastic bags to any H.E.B. store in Texas April 22 from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. and receive a coupon for a FREE green reusable shopping bag.  The grocery retailer plans to give away 300,000 reusable bags and remove 1.5 million plastic bags from circulation.
