Many venues throughout Houston are offering free flu shots or discounted flu shots to help you save money. Protecting your family with flu shots can add up quickly at $25 or $30 a pop. Here are the 2012 locations for free and discount flu shots:

Legacy Community Health Services offers free flu vaccine for kids 18 and under at three locations. As a bonus, kids will be rewarded with four passes to the Children’s Museum of Houston! Extended hours until 8 pm each Wednesday in October. Call 832.730.4433 to book an appointment. Participating locations include Montrose, Lyons Avenue, and Southwest Clinic.

HealthOne 24 Hour Emergency Fall Creek is offering free drive-thru flu shots Saturday, October 13, 10 am – 2 pm. No need to make an appointment. Available for free while supplies last. HealthOne is located in Humble at 9711 N. Sam Houston Parkway East.

CVS: Folks who get their flu shot at CVS ($31.99) will receive a 20% off coupon for a future CVS purchase.

University of Houston students can get free flu shots October 12, 1 pm – 4 pm, as part of Family Weekend activities. Family members age 18 and up can get a flu shot for $15. This is available in the University of Houston Health Center on campus.

Cy-Fair Urgent Care Center: Once again this neighborhood urgent care clinic is offering discount flu shots in October — $20 each for adults and children ages 9 and up.  Open seven days a week from 9 am – 9 pm.  No appointment necessary. Cash and check only. Two locations in NW Houston: Barker Cypress (9110 Barker Cypress at West Road) and Spring Cypress (14044 Spring Cypress).

The Vaccine Clinic: $10 flu shots for children only, without Medicaid.  Locations at 8622 S. Braeswood Blvd., 6400 Highstar, 5990 Airline Drive Suite 130 and 200, and 10701 Wiggins in Jacinto City. Contact the clinic at 832.251.0500 for more info.

Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center: Veterans can get free flu shots weekdays from 8 am – 4 pm at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, 2002 Holcombe Blvd. Also available at outpatient clinics in Beaumont, Conroe, Galveston, Lufkin, Richmond, Lake Jackson, and Texas City.

Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services is offering $12 flu shots at its clinics by appointment only. Call 713.212.6800 to schedule. Clinics are located at 5815 Antoine and in Pasadena, Humble, and Baytown.

Methodist Sugar Land Hospital: Free flu shots on Saturday, November 3, for adults 18+ who bring a new unwrapped toy or clothing donation as part of Santa’s Gift Exchange for local children during the holidays. Hours are 8 am to noon. Located at 16555 Southwest Freeway in the Methodist Sugar Land Hospital Conference Center. No appointment necessary.
