posted by Vicki Powers on September 05, 2012

Get September 15 on your calendar to experience Houston’s Museum District for free! Houston’s 16th annual Museum District Day 2012 is a fabulous way to visit the 18 participating museums in the museum district without charge. Enjoy free performances, demonstrations, and hands-on activities at the museums from 10 am – 5 pm. Families can introduce their kids to diverse displays of art, science, nature, and history. Lots of food and fun, as well, including food trucks! The Radio Disney van will be at Houston Museum of Natural Science from 2 pm – 4 pm as well as the Channel 11 anchors and reporters.

Museums are divided by walkable zones on the Museum District Day 2012 map. New this year: free pedicabs will be available (don’t forget to tip) in place of complimentary shuttles. Free and paid parking lots are listed, as well.

Check out the museum day schedule online in this Museum District Day 2012 .pdf.
