Houston Restaurant Weeks is back — and it kicks off tomorrow for the entire month of August! The Houston restaurants participating in this year’s Houston Restaurant Weeks are exploding. The current count is more than 150, which is wonderful for the benefiting food banks. New this year: HRW 2012 will include restaurants in Montgomery and Galveston counties. 100% of the proceeds raised from Galveston and Montgomery area restaurants will go directly to their local Galveston County Food Bank and Montgomery County Food Bank. Folks also can contribute to the Houston Food Bank through a new Text to Give campaign. Simply text HRW to 20222 to automatically make a $10 donation.
Here’s how it works… enjoy a 3-course meal at fine Houston restaurants for just $35. A generous $5 of each meal will be donated to the Houston Food Bank. For those who love to indulge over lunch, that’s an option, too. Get a two-course lunch for just $20, with $3 donated to Houston Food Bank.
I’m sure you’ll find your favorite fine dining restaurant on the list with names such as Brennan’s of Houston, Canopy, Spindletop, McCormick & Schmick’s, benjy’s, Hugo’s, Tony’s, Perry’s Steakhouse, Grotto, Rice Epicurean Cooking School, Backstreet Cafe, and hundreds more. Check out the complete list of participating restaurants here.
