Cruising Disney Magic Out of Galveston Will Be My Work Week
posted by Vicki Powers on October 20, 2012

Two weeks ago, I received an amazing invite to cruise the Disney Magic out of Galveston for a 7-day magical adventure as part of a media sailing. It was completely out-of-the-blue! It’s easy to admit I’ve been distracted by the idea of taking a free cruise with other journalists and bloggers to the Western Caribbean for seven days. Not only have I never cruised before but especially not Disney style! And don’t even ask how much I love the Texas touch of Mickey’s cowboy hat on the logo for its inaugural event…

Texans were thrilled when Disney announced Galveston would be one of several new ports for Disney ships in 2012 and 2013. The kick-off celebration was a month ago with cruises available to the Caribbean and Bahamas. Disney Magic is a huge vessel on 11 decks for its 2,700 passengers. I can’t begin to imagine the non-stop food, Disney-style entertainment, characters roaming the ship, and relaxing days at sea. Will I get bored without blogging? I plan to blog a bit as WiFi allows but emails will not be daily!

Check out my updated daily deals here if you miss them emailed out each day…

I will be traveling Disney Cruise Line without my kids — so my version might be a little different than others. I am convinced that you don’t need to have kids around to be astounded and amazed at everything that makes Disney special. We can certainly be kids at heart… And my friend and I will prove it!

For those cruising with kids, don’t forget kids sail free out of Galveston January 4 – March 1, 2013 on select itineraries.

Disney invited me on a 7-day Western Caribbean media cruise to share my experiences with others. All opinions will be my own.
