Want to see the largest passenger jet in the world make its first stop in Texas? Houston Airport System is inviting folks to its A380 Houston Party tomorrow, August 1, from noon to 2 pm. Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport will be Lufthansa’s fourth A380 market served in the United States with service to Frankfurt.
According to the party info, the A380 Houston Party is in a gated area not regularly open to the public. You’ll be right near the runway where the A380 will land! The party includes live music, free drinks and snacks, special gift for each attendee and contests such as Luggage Packing contest and Yodeling Contest. The first 100 folks at the party will receive discount coupons and tote bag from Houston Premium Outlets. The event is located at FM1960 just east of Ferrell Road. Find the map and specific directions online here.
Watch for schedule changes on Twitter at @iah or Houston Airport System site.
The double-deck A380 features 63 percent more cabin space than the next largest aircraft, the Boeing 747-400. The new jet will carry up to 526 passengers, with eight seats in First Class and 98 in Business Class, both located on the upper deck. Sounds huge and amazing!
