Did you catch the ad during the Super Bowl last night advertising a free Grand Slam breakfast at Denny’s? Dine-in customers on Tuesday, February 3, can order a Grand Slam from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and receive 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 bacon and 2 sausage links for FREE! Word has it that customers on Tuesday also will get a coupon booklet with offers for additional free menu items with purchases. This offer is good at all 10 Denny’s locations in Houston. For specific locations near you, check Denny’s online.
G’Day USA Australia Week culminates this weekend, and Houston represents the third-coast showcase city. Nibble and sip some Australian food and wine this Saturday, January 31, at Spec’s downtown location. “Taste of Australia” features epicurean delights and fine wines from the Land Down Under. This free event also includes cooking demonstrations by local Australian chef, Jason Gould, of Gravitas Restaurant—and a variety of Australian entertainment.
Location: Spec’s Downtown, 2410 Smith Street, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More info at Spec’s: (713) 526-8787
Grab the kids and head to The Children’s Museum of Houston for its weekly Family Fun Night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. And did I mention it’s always free admission? Target helps sponsor this wonderful evening for Houston families and hosts story time in the Parent Resource Library on the hour beginning at 5 p.m. All story time participants will receive a new book courtesy of Target to continue their reading adventures at home.
Be sure to check out the big expansion plans while you’re there. By its Grand Re-Opening on March 14, the museum will double its size to add seven new gallery exhibits to its current plethora of fun.
The Children’s Museum of Houston is located near Hermann Park and Hwy. 288 at 1500 Binz. For more information or directions, call (713) 522-1138.
Note: Parking in the garage is $3 on Free Family Nights.
My favorite WiFi/lunch spot is offering FREE coffee today at all its locations. No coupon is required… Customers can try one of Panera Bread’s new light or dark roast coffees as well as samples of its three new grilled breakfast sandwiches.
Panera Bread also is inviting customers to donate $1 in return towards its Operation Dough-Nation, a program that ensures every purchase at Panera Bread feeds back into the community. Locally, all cash donations are matched and donated to The Houston Food Bank — and unsold bread is given daily to local hunger relief agencies.
I’ll see you there!
