My birthday is today, and I’m taking the day off! Which seems like a great time to remind you to take advantage of free food, treats and more in honor of your birthday.
How does it work? I signed up for the email clubs at a number of restaurants and dessert venues and received 20 emails this year. In fact, I even created a folder titled “birthday emails” to keep track as they came in my inbox… yeah, pretty pathetic!
My birthday perks feature a number of my favorite places including Ben and Jerry’s, Panera, Benihana’s, Zoës Kitchen, Jason’s Deli, Three Brothers Bakery, Schlotzsky’s, Ooh La La, Gringo’s, On The Border, Cinemark, Fuddrucker’s, Buca di Beppo, Cold Stone Creamery, and more.
Here are two sites to check out and register to get free stuff on your birthday:
- FreeBirthdayTreats.com: Register for free birthday treats for yourself, your kids, or even your pets. Yes, your pets. Really. Although it’s not food, my Schnoodle can get a free toy from PetSmart.
- BirthdayFreebies.com: This birthday site lets you search for birthday freebies in your area. Sign up for the ones that interest you and wait for your birthday coupons to arrive by email near your birthday. Freebies include entrees, desserts, movies, and more. NEW: The site also is beta testing Birthday ClubHub, a free online service to manage your birthday clubs without having to get the emails in your inbox. Perfect for the die-hard birthday club goer!
Remember that the time frame to use this freebies is limited — some are valid on your birthday only, while others give you a few days to a few weeks. It can be a challenge to use my free birthday treats in such a short time, but I love ‘em.
I can’t wait to dig into the cake my daughter ordered from Three Brothers Bakery [above]!
