The Super Bowl is around the corner — which means it’s time to help Texas’ largest food drive. Houston-area grocery retailers — Kroger, Randall’s and H-E-B — as well as community leaders and the Houston Texans have teamed up to help fight hunger in Houston. You can support this year’s Souper Bowl of Caring by making monetary donations at these retailers or purchasing and donating a specially marked bag of non-perishable food items. Their goal is to collect 3 million meals for the Houston Food Bank.
Volunteer opportunities are also available, which is a great way to get kids involved in the local hunger issue. Folks can volunteer at a grocery store Super Bowl weekend (February 4-5) or give time at a local shelter during the campaign.
Houston Food Bank is the recipient of the majority of the donations. Last year, this effort raised $4.2 million in food and cash. Souper Bowl of Caring is the largest food drive in Texas!
