The Houston Zoo remains one of the city’s most popular attractions for families and kids. The 55-acre zoological park located within Hermann Park houses over 6,000 animals from 900 species, and best of all, tickets won’t break the budget. One of the ways the Houston Zoo keeps ticket prices down is through depending on philanthropy and fundraising. While most of us don’t have millions of dollars to donate to good causes, luckily there’s a way you and your family can help out the Houston Zoo this week and get an affordable, delicious meal in the process. Houston-area Chipotle restaurants are hosting a fundraiser this week which will see half of all proceeds donated to the Houston Zoo. Burritos and black howler monkeys? Sign me up!

The fundraiser takes place tomorrow, Thursday, May 10th. All Chipotle restaurants in the greater Houston area will donate 50% of all fundraiser sales directly to the Houston Zoo. One important note, though: you must inform the restaurant at the register that you wish to participate in the fundraiser. There is no change in menu prices for participating, and half of your total bill will go towards supporting the zoo’s animal care programs and support efforts to protect wildlife through putting Houstonians in direct contact with some of the most endangered animals on the planet.

Aside from allowing Houstonians to get up close and personal with animals from around the world, the Houston Zoo also hosts educational programs for area schoolchildren, summer camps, and even Houston Zoo After Dark, an adults-only way to enjoy the zoo and your favorite beverages at the same time.

There are seventeen Chipotle locations in the Houston-area participating in the zoo fundraiser, making it easy to stuff your face for a good cause. The promotion runs from 10:45 a.m. to close on Thursday, May 10th, so don’t miss out an opportunity to help one of Houston’s most beloved attractions and family-friendly destinations.
