Pecan Grove Christmas Lights – One Resident Makes the News

One resident has become known as the “Clark Griswold of Pecan Grove” to his neighbors. When you see his massive display of holiday spirit, you’ll know why! Chris Kalvert was even featured this year in KHOU’s “Living in the Lone Star: Holiday Homes Edition” for his Texas-sized array of decorations.

If you check out his front yard you’ll find a variety of our favorite Christmas characters including Elf, the Abominable Snowman, Ralphie Parker, Olaf, the Grinch, and many more. There’s even a Santa Claus driving a convertible and blasting holiday tunes. According to KHOU, he has around 50 inflatables and more than 30,000 lights adorning his yard. My guess is you can see it from space!

His display even spilled into the neighbor’s yard. They don’t seem to mind though, decorating the other half of their yard with a comical “ditto” sign and an arrow of lights pointing to their neighbor’s yard.

For 2022, the Pecan Grove Property Owners Association has asked that the lights be up by Saturday, November 26th. With so many houses in Pecan Grove going all out, lights start to go up early in this neighborhood. KHOU reported that it takes Kalvert a month to get all his decorations up, so we’re guessing you’ll start to see Christmas lights here long before Thanksgiving. As we get closer to Christmas, there will be more houses decorated and the final masterpieces will be complete. The lights are typically up until after the New Year.
