It’s a magical time of year with lights, Christmas trees, and holiday music.  The City of Houston celebrates the season in grand style with the city’s own “official” Christmas tree lighting this Friday, December 3, 6 p.m.  Enjoy free family fun featuring music, dancing, fireworks, and a visit from Santa and the elves.

Favorite characters from the Houston Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” will be at the celebration for photo opps and to help light the tree.  The tree lighting and fireworks will begin at 7 p.m.  Also, don’t miss the free photos with Santa in the North Pole Booth!

The Houston tree lighting celebration is located at the upper plaza at City Hall, 901 Bagby. Parking is available for $7 in the Theater District parking garage on Rusk between Bagby and Smith.
