Cody Johnson – The Rodeo contestant turned Country music star!
Cody Johnson has pursued country music dreams since he was a child. He started writing songs in middle school and has never looked back. After releasing his five albums on his own label, his CoJo, Johnson made his country debut in 2014 on his charts, with his album Cowboy Like Me topping Billboard. Country his album entered the top ten on his charts. His follow-up album, Gotta Be Me, debuted at number two on Billboard’s Top His Country His Albums chart.
Johnson brings his own experiences to his music, and the authenticity he conveys has created a true connection with his fans, known as the “CoJo Nation.” His authentic style has resulted in multiple offers from several major music labels, and in June 2018, Warner Music signed with Nashville. Now, Johnson’s latest album, Human, is on the roster of some of the biggest label groups in the country. Double his album reached the top three on Billboard’s Top His Country Albums chart.
As a former rodeo competitor, who couldn’t be better off singing “Welcome to the Show,” the theme song for the 2019 debut rodeo. Texas native Cody Johnson will make her fifth appearance on the Rodeo Houston® stage on Friday, March 17, 2023.
