Along with the hot weather of summer comes plenty of opportunities for the things Texas does best: food, friends, and the great outdoors. If you love great food, cold drinks, family fun, and mariachi music, then you don’t want to miss Traders Village Festival del Mariachi 2019 this Sunday, July 2019.
The Traders Village Festival del Mariachi 2019 will bring together some of the most recognized mariachi bands Texas has to offer in order to share this truly one-of-a-kind music with the public. Mariachi music is unique to North America and has evolved from the 18th century until today. When the Spanish arrived in Mexico in the 16th century, they brought along the musical instruments and musical influences they knew from home. Over time as the Spanish settled in Mexico and began intermingling with traditional Mexican culture, a new musical form began to take root.
Mariachi music combines European musical instruments such as guitars, violins, and brass instruments with the traditional folk music of Mexico to create a unique sound. Today, mariachi music can be heard in concert halls, bars and restaurants, or on city streets throughout Mexico and Texas.
Traders Village is honoring this distinctly North American musical genre with a full day of family fun. The festivities kick off at 12 noon and will offer four hours of mariachi music, authentic Mexican foods, and cold beverages to keep everyone cool. This is a totally FREE event open to the public, and parking at Traders Village is always just $4.
Aside from food, fun, and mariachi music, Festival del Mariachi will also include the usual attractions Traders Village has to offer. Thousands of vendors spread across 150 acres will be selling everything under the sun at bargain prices, and all of Traders Village’s signature amusement park rides will be offering up thrills all day long.
Traders Village Festival del Mariachi 2019 is happening this Sunday, July 28 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm in the Grey Expo.
Traders Village is located at 7979 N. Eldridge Rd., Houston, Texas 77041. For more information visit the event’s official website or call 281-890-5500.
