Frank and Ella

Join the Houston Symphony at the beautiful Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion as the symphony pays tribute to two of the greatest jazz singers in American history: Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. No matter if you’re a lifelong fan of Frank and Ella or you’ve never heard of them, this promises to be one special night of some of America’s most romantic music outside under the stars. Best of all, this one-of-a-kind performance is completely FREE with no tickets required to sit in the lawn or mezzanine sections (reserved seating area tickets start at $20)!

Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra are widely regarded as two of the most iconic American singers of all time. Throughout a career that spanned over six decades, Fitzgerald recorded many of the most popular songs in American musical history, picking up thirteen Grammy Awards and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Sinatra, meanwhile, has gone down in history as having one of the most recognizable voices on the planet. Sinatra won his share of awards throughout his storied career as well, being awarded 11 Grammys and a Congressional Gold Medal, just to name a few.

The Houston Symphony honors these two legendary vocalists with An Evening with Frank Sinatra & Ella Fitzgerald under the guidance of conductor Lucas Waldin. The symphony will perform many of Sinatra and Fitzgerald’s most legendary songs like you’ve never heard them before: played by a full symphony orchestra. Whether you’re a jazz fan, a classical aficionado, or just love a beautiful tune, this will be one concert you won’t forget, and it’s something the whole family can truly enjoy.

An Evening with Frank Sinatra & Ella Fitzgerald will be presented on Saturday, June 8, 2019; gates open at 7pm, and the show starts at 8pm. Seats on the lawn and mezzanine are free and don’t require any tickets, but if you want actual reserved seats, those tickets start at $20. This is an all-ages event, so bring the whole family out for a night of wonderful music!
