Enjoy a classic musical –AD Players present a free performance of Godspell at 8 pm Friday, at Miller Outdoor Theatre. It’s considered one of the biggest Broadway and off-Broadway hits of all time. Free reserved seats are available on performance day at the Miller Box Office, 10 am – 1 pm.
Bike Houston — Grab your bike and join Critical Mass, a group of bikers that ride the last Friday of each month from Market Square Park. Its goal is to advocate for a bike-friendly urban environment. Ride begins at 301 Milam downtown at 7 pm.
Listen to jazz –– The free outdoor concert series continues Friday at Central Green Park in Katy. This week features college students in Cool Jazz beginning at 7 pm. Located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. in Katy.
Learn to salsa dance — Enjoy free salsa dance lessons at Latin Beats every Friday night at the Downtown Aquarium. From 7 pm – 11 pm you can learn salsa dancing from professional dance instructors. Enjoy live music since it’s the last Friday of the month. The Aquarium is located at 410 Bagby at Memorial.
Fish for free — Don’t miss the 31st annual The Woodlands Kiwanis Kid’s Fishing Tournament Saturday, August 30, 7 am to noon. The event includes free bait, free food, and free drinks! This event is geared to toddlers to age 16 years. Registration begins at 7 am with fishing starting at 8 am. There will be trophies for all! Enjoy a free movie — Head downtown for some air-conditioned fun at the Central Library. A free kids’ movie begins at noon. Central Library is located at 500 McKinney.
Celebrate Disney music — Head to The Woodlands Saturday night for a free Houston Symphony concert featuring all things Disney! Disney in Concert Magical Music from the Movies will relive some of the best songs from Disney movies. Pre-concert activities begin at 6:30 pm and the concert starts at 8 pm. Mezzanine and lawn seats are free thanks to Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Woodforest National Bank.
Jam in Tomball — Don’t miss the Tomball Texas Music Festival Saturday, 11 am – 6:30 pm. Live music from The John Evans Band, Jesse Raub, Jr., and Mike & the Moonpies. Food, music and free parking! Located at 201 S. Elm in Tomball.
Engage in free yoga — Enjoy free Community Yoga Night at Sugar Land Town Square plaza Saturday night to prepare for National Yoga Day Monday!
