Watch movies under the moon — 1) The Square at Memorial City: It’s another Flashback Friday at The Square at Memorial City. This week features School of Rock beginning at 8 pm. Located at 303 Memorial City Way. 2) Market Square Park: Head downtown to watch That Thing You Do at Market Square Park beginning at 8 pm. Located at 301 Milam.

Learn to dance — Fred Astaire Dance Studio instructors will help you glide on the dance floor as you learn dancing at Dancing With the Stars from 7:30 pm – 9 pm. Located at Sugar Land Town Center.

Love live music — Los Angeles-based Ozomatli plays a variety of genres, from classic to modern Latino, urban, hip-hop and other world styles. The band shares the city’s eclectic culture through music that appeals to the local community and the world beyond. Music begins at 8:30 pm. Located at Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park.

SATURDAY

Relax with Tai Chi — Engage in Tai Chi Saturday mornings in Katy at 8:30 am. This slow and gentle exercise — perfect for all levels — is a Chinese exercise system that uses slow body movements to achieve a state of relaxation. Located at Central Gren Park, 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.

Free yoga in the park — The summer series, Savasana into Summer, continues Saturdays at Hermann Park, thanks to Namitzi Yoga. The free weekly Yoga in the Park is open to all skill levels. Meditation is 8:15 am – 8:25 am with yoga from 8:30 am – 9:30 am. This is located on the east side of the Jones Reflection Pond at Hermann Park. No prior experience needed.

Learn about insects — Meet with Texas Master Gardeners at Backyard Garden Insects in Katy to learn about the role insects (butterflies, bees, hunters and pests) play in your garden. The two-hour program will share displays, live specimens, plant suggestions, activities and Entomology presenters to show, tell and teach. The program begins at 9 am at the pavilion at Willow Fork Park north of Cinco Ranch High School.

Browse creative art — It’s Second Saturday at Sawyer Yards with open studios noon – 5 pm at Silver Street Studios, Summer Street Studios, Winter Street Studios and The Silos at Sawyer Yards. Spend the afternoon browsing through four repurposed warehouses and discover painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, clothing, textiles, printmaking, mixed media and more. It’s a laid back way to explore the Washington Avenue Arts District and maybe find a treasure or two! The event is free + free parking. Located at 1502 Sawyer St.

Help pack backpacks — Join Pines Presbyterian Church in CityCentre plaza Saturday to pack school supplies into backpacks from 5 pm – 7 pm. The event, A Day of Service, is to help students of Sherwood Elementary School.

Relive Texas settler life Second Saturday Settlers’ Series presents Homestead Fun Saturday, 1 pm – 3 pm, at Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center. Play horseshoes and old-fashioned games, sample homemade ice cream (!) and watermelon and see how Texas settlers lived on the Redbud Hill Homestead. Located at 20634 Kenswick in Humble.

Movies under the moon — It’s a big night of outdoor movies. Choose from five different locations: 1) Pearland Town Center — Watch The Jungle Book outdoors in Pearland beginning at dusk. 2) Central Green Park — Enjoy an outdoor screening of Moana beginning at dusk in Katy. Located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. 3) Tomball — Don’t miss The Good Dinosaur at 2nd Saturday at the Depot in Tomball. 4) Discovery Green — Head downtown for a free screening of Finding Dory beginning at 8:30 pm. 5) Sugar Land Town Square — Don’t miss The LEGO Batman Movie beginning at 8:30 pm at Sugar Land Town Square.

Enjoy Beatles + classical — The Fab 5 and Texas Medical Center Orchestra present a 50th anniversary tribute to The Beatles’ Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Fab 5 is a Houston-based Beatles Tribute Band. The show begins at 8:30 pm at Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park.

SUNDAY

Meet the Snake Man — Learn to identify snakes with Clint “The Snake Man” Pustejovsky at Bridgeland Farmers Market Sunday, 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm. Clint will teach folks about the importance of snake identification and safety. The rain-or-shine Farmers Market is held the second Sunday of the month by Bridgeland’s Lakeland Activity Center, 16902 Bridgeland Landing in Cypress.
