Watch Annie, free family flick — Don’t miss the free Kids’ Camp family-friendly movie each weekend at Alamo Drafthouse’s Vintage Park and Mason Park locations. Catch Annie at 10:05 am (Vintage Park) and 10 am (Mason Park) Friday through Thursday, July 4-10. Seats are first-come, first-serve.

Watch a contemporary circus —  Check out MARAVILLOSSO! a Contemporary Circus at downtown Discovery Green. Don’t miss the Texas premiere of “ile O” by Barolosolo Cirkus Company, from Carcasonne, France, featuring a mash-up of modern physical theater. Houston’s own Cirque La Vie and FrenetiCore Dance Company also will perform. Kicks off at 7 pm at 1500 McKinney.

Learn to salsa dance — Enjoy free salsa dance lessons at Latin Beats every Friday night at the Downtown Aquarium. From 7 pm – 11 pm you can learn salsa dancing from professional dance instructors. The Aquarium is located at 410 Bagby at Memorial.

Create wearable art of clay —Crafty kids will enjoy making polymer clay jewelry at the next free Hands-On Houston craft. Families can drop in to Houston Center for Contemporary Craft July 5, between 11 am – 3 pm, to craft polymer clay shapes . All materials are provided free of charge. Located at 4848 Main Street.

Explore art in the Heights — The First Saturday Arts Market returns July 5 with its summer hours from 6 pm – 10 pm. This monthly outdoor market features original art, music, and fun. Located at 548 W. 19th.

Mingle at free museums and zoo — It’s another weekend for Bank of America’s “Museums on Us” program with free admission to the Houston Zoo, Children’s Museum, and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. This is for Bank of America cardholders only, not their children.

Play at summer campFamily Summer Camp at Bass Pro Shops offers free activities for kids Saturdays and Sundays (& Tuesday/Thursday) plus family workshops and more. Family Summer Camp lasts from noon to 5 pm through July 14. Engage in activities such as casting challenge, BB shooting range, weekly crafts, shooting arcade, free workshops, catch and release pond, and homemade ice cream Saturdays at 5 pm. Bass Pro Shops has two Houston-area locations in Katy (5000 Katy Mills Circle) and Pearland (1000 Basspro Drive).

Watch Rocky under the Galveston starsMovie Night on the Strand in Galveston returns July 5 with Rocky, 7 pm, at Saengerfest Park, 2300 Strand. Grab your chairs, blankets and enjoy a family-friendly movie outdoors! This is held the first Saturday of each month.
