We Love Houston sign There’s never a dull moment in Houston. Here are 7 options for free and cheap fun this week (April 7-11) before planning your free and cheap weekend!

Monday (4/7) — Check out Mondays with Mommy the first Monday each month this spring. The fun kicks off at 10 am with folks from Kindermusik and Vivi Mommy and Me plus a Spring EGGstravaganza themed craft. This free program is targeted to children age 5 and under. Located at LaCenterra, 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.

Tuesday (4/8) — Grab a free ice cream cone at Ben & Jerry’s for Free Cone Day! The annual event is a favorite of mine, since I actually visited the Vermont factory as part of my honeymoon! Three Houston-area locations + Galveston.

Tuesday (4/8) — Toddlers will love Toddler Tuesday this week for all the special events! How about 20,000 eggs and treats for Easter egg hunts? Plus crafts, bunny photos, and street teams from Houston Rockets and Houston Dynamos. The free event begins at 9 am and lasts till 1 pm. The egg hunts kick off at 10:30 am for 3 – 6 year olds and around 10:40 am for 2 and under crowd. Located at Discovery Green, 1500 McKinney.

Wednesday (4/9) — The Central Library’s free weekly Noon Film Series continues this week with Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Bring your lunch and take a break from work. Located downtown at 500 McKinney.

Wednesday (4/9) — Not free but cheap! It’s $2 Girls Night Out at Studio Movie Grill with Mamma Mia! this month. The movie begins at 7:30 pm at both CityCentre and Copperfield locations.

Thursday (4/10) — Active seniors can learn Extreme Couponing with Tiffany Ivanovsky, a local blogger who appeared on the Extreme Couponing TV series. From experience, I know how gracious Tiffany is in sharing her knowledge and time. The Silver Stars program is held at Ring Neighborhood Library for active seniors, 11 am to noon, 8835 Long Point.

Thursday (4/10) –  Thursday is the magic day in the Houston Museum District to visit many museums for free. Six museums are free each Thursday, while a number are free every day.
