We Love Houston sign There’s never a dull moment in Houston. Here are 7 options for free fun this week (July 7-11) before planning your free and cheap weekend!

Monday (7/7) — Free movies continue this week at Alamo Drafthouse with Annie Monday at 10 am (Vintage Park) and 10 am (Mason Park). Annie is free each day through Thursday. Times vary each day. Don’t miss the $1 and $2 movies all summer, too, at Studio Movie Grill, Cinemark, and Regal plus  Catfree at Santikos Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Tuesday (7/8) — It’s the last week of Family Summer Camp at Bass Pro Shops Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday — and everything is free! Enjoy family workshops, weekly crafts, casting challenge, shooting arcade, catch & release pond and more. Bass Pro Shops has two Houston-area locations in Katy (5000 Katy Mills Circle) and Pearland (1000 Basspro Drive).

Wednesday (7/9) — Don’t miss Moonlight Movies for Kids Wednesday at CityCentre. This month’s free flick is Monsters University beginning at 9 pm on the jumbo outdoor screen.

Wednesday (7/9) — Not free but cheap! Head to Girls Night Out with $2 Movie Night at Studio Movie Grill. This month’s feature is Footloose (PG), a classic 1984 movie with Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer. Located at CityCentre and Copperfield locations.

Thursday (7/10) — Fish Gallery kicks off its Summer Reading Program this Thursday through August 22. Enjoy free Summer Reading Day Thursdays at 3:30 pm with games, crafts, touch tanks and prizes. Every Thursday through August 22, the final day and Summer Party. Located at 2909 Fountain View.

Thursday (7/10) — Catch a free Prairie Tour along Buffalo Bayou Thursday, 6 pm, thanks to Buffalo Bayou Partnership and Katy Prairie Conservancy. The docent-led tour will share the historical background of prairies in Buffalo Bayou Park and the importance of prairies. The area will eventually have 11 acres of urban prairie. Located at the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark, 103 Sabine.

Thursday (7/10) — Head to Discovery Green for Summer Street Salsa, Thursdays, 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Learn new dance moves from Strictly Street Salsa. No partner required! Every Thursday through August 28. Located at 1500 McKinney.

Friday (7/11) — Dress up like a cow for Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A! Your full costume (head to hoof) gets you a free combo meal while partial costume gets a free entree. Available breakfast, lunch and dinner!
