It’s the final week of summer for many Houston-area school districts. Various locations are offering free immunizations for kids 18 and under. Beat the lines and find a location near you:

Free and Cheap Immunizations for Kids in Houston Summer 2013The Blue Cross Blue Shield Care Van offers free immunizations and health screenings to children age birth to 18 years at neighborhood schools and churches. Find the August schedule online here.

The Harris County Hospital District’s Troubleshooters Mobile Unit will be providing free shots for children age 2 months to 18 years.  Parents need to bring their child’s shot record. Find the complete August calendar online. Hours are from 9 am – 1 pm unless noted otherwise.

Free and Cheap Immunizations for Kids in Houston Summer 2013The Children’s Museum of Houston continues its community partnership for free back-to-school immunizations for children under 18 years.  Each Thursday through August 29, families can get their children immunized for free 5 pm – 7 pm during the museum’s Free Family Night. The first 200 will be eligible for the free shots, thanks to the Texas Children’s Mobile Clinic. Parents must bring the child’s shot record to qualify. Free Family Night offers free admission 5 pm to 8 pm each Thursday.

The Vaccine Clinic offers $10 immunizations per child (not per shot) for children from birth to 18 years. Five locations in Houston on Airline Drive (two), S. Braeswood Blvd., High Star, and Wiggins St. in Jacinto City. Walk-ins or appointments are welcome.

Pediatric and Adolescent Health Center (Cypress) has two final dates of free immunizations: August 20 and 27 from 1 pm – 3 pm.
