Don’t miss these seven options for free fun in Houston October 9-13 before planning your free and cheap weekend!

Tuesday (10/10) — At this week’s Toddler Tuesday, the theme is all about bugs! Houston Museum of Natural Science will be on-site with their Bugs on Wheels program. Giant millipedes, hissing cockroaches, walking sticks, and butterflies will engage kids of all ages during the hands-on presentation. Story time begins at 10:30 am. Bring a new or gently used book for the book exchange and trade it for another great story. Located at Discovery Green, 1500 McKinney.

Tuesday (10/10) — Head to Levy Park for yoga with Joy Yoga Tuesdays at 6 pm. Enjoy free outdoor exercise in the beautiful new park. Located at 3801 Eastside.

Wednesday (10/11) — Wednesdays feature Midday Movie and a Meal at noon at Central Public Library downtown. This week’s movie is Tyler Perry’s Madea Halloween. Free lunch is provided or bring your own. Free tickets are issued from 11 am -12 pm. No ticket needed to attend but those who have tickets are given lunch first. Located at 500 McKinney.

Wednesday (10/11) — Ladies will love attending a Ladies Night, a free event at Katy’s Multiplicity studio, held the second Wednesday each month from 6 pm – 9 pm. The evening includes a surprise craft option, light bites and libations. The craft is a first-come, first-serve basis with sign-ups beginning at 6 pm. Located at 1306 Avenue A in Katy.

Wednesday (10/11) — Enjoy a special happy hour football event featuring player appearance by Houston Texans D’Onta Foreman — and former Texas Longhorn! Meet & greet the Texans running back while enjoying DJ music,  lawn games and football spirit (plus burgers, beer & wine for purchase). Try your chance to win two tickets to Texas vs OU game, Oct 14! Winner will be announced by D’Onta himself! Time is 6 pm – 8 pm Wednesday. Located at The Square at Memorial City, 303 Memorial Way.

Thursday (10/12) — Enjoy six museums for free each Thursday in Houston’s Museum District.

Thursday (10/12) — Don’t miss Swing, Baby, Swing!, a new musical by Norma Miller and Dance Houston about love, joy and bringing people together. It is inspired by the life and times of the original Lindy Hoppers, who danced at The Savoy Ballroom, the first integrated public ballroom in the United States. The show is at 7:30 pm at Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park Dr. It repeats again Friday, 7:30 pm.
