The Children’s Museum of Houston is dedicated to transforming the Houston community through innovative, child-centered learning. Close to 800,000 children and their caregivers visit the museum each year, making it a perfect site for engaging with local families and providing valuable resources. To continue their mission of empowering and enriching kids’ lives, the museum is hosting free immunizations for children during their Free Family Nights.
Every Thursday from 5 to 8 pm, families can get in free to the Children’s Museum of Houston as part of their Free Family Night and enjoy the wide range of hands-on educational and exciting exhibits the museum offers (learn more about other free museum days in Houston).
Even more exciting (for mom and dad, at least), the museum will host the Texas Children’s Mobile Clinic Program who will be on hand to give out free immunizations. The free immunizations will be given on the second Thursday of each month from February through May; the next free immunizations at the Children’s Museum of Houston will be administered on February 13, 2020 from 5-7 pm.
No pre-registration is necessary, but parents or guardians must bring their child’s immunization records with them to receive the free immunizations. Each night, free immunizations will be given to the first 100 children to arrive who qualify for the Vaccines for Children program (no insurance, have insurance that doesn’t cover vaccines, or have Medicaid) and are between the ages of 6 weeks and 18 years old.
Remember: immunizations don’t just keep your kid from getting sick; they keep everyone else’s kids healthy, too. Do your part not only for your family’s health, but for public health.
You can learn more about free vaccinations at the Children’s Museum of Houston on their website.
