Amazon has continued its march towards complete domination of the retail market with their announcement of Prime Day 2018. Prime Day offers Amazon Prime members even more exclusive deals and discounts on thousands of items for sale online, but this year things are going even further thanks to Amazon’s recent acquisition of Whole Foods Markets. Amazon Prime members can now access exclusive in-store deals at Whole Foods Markets on many best-selling foods, including 25% off all bulk food items. To make the new Amazon-Whole Foods merger even better, Amazon has announced that Prime members will receive $10 in Amazon credit to use on Prime day just for spending $10 in Whole Foods stores. It gets better.
Aside from the essentially free $10, Amazon is offering Prime members 10% back in Amazon credit on all in-store Whole Foods purchases made with Amazon Prime Rewards Visa cards for up to a total of $400 worth of online purchases. Prime members who haven’t yet tried Whole Foods’ grocery delivery service can also get $10 off their first order made between now and July 17, plus $10 off their next grocery delivery purchase.
Prime members in many stores will also be able to try out some of Amazon’s best selling devices like the Alexa-enabled Echo smart speaker or the popular Fire tablets and Fire TV devices.
“This is Whole Foods Market’s first Prime Day and we’re taking the shopping experience to the next level,” says John Mackey, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Whole Foods Market. “Between our exclusive deals and special Prime Day offers, you’re not going to want to miss out on these savings.”
Amazon makes it more and more alluring to become a Prime member. I’ve been one myself for years now, and can’t imagine shopping online without it. If you’re not yet a Prime member, you can try it free for 30 days as part of Prime Day 2018.
