Do your holiday plans in Houston feature breathtaking displays of color? Then it’s time to plan a visit to the Sugar Land Holiday Lights!
Christmas in Texas has a special kind of holiday fervor. And Houstonians, for one, don’t hold back when it comes to festivities–from barns to backyards, we spruce our outdoors with some of the most magical lights in the country. These twinkling displays, or “Christmas Light Shows”, are often perfect for leaning into the holiday spirit while spending quality time with your loved ones. And the Sugar Land Holiday Lights are among the best Christmas lights and holiday events in the greater Houston area. Don’t miss this one of a kind holiday lights display from November 19th, 2021 to January 9th 2022!
Holiday Lights in Sugar Land – What to Expect
The 8th annual Sugar Land Holiday Lights features numerous themed displays, a carnival and over 3 million individual lights. This arena of colorful and animated holiday showcases is typically divided into various Christmas-themed pockets at Constellation Field. Like every year, the sugar land holiday lights will return with movie nights and various cool events–think ‘Lights & Leashes’ (where you can bring your pet), Christmas onesie and PJ night, Ladies Night and Ugly Sweater Night.
In addition to the lights, there are several food options available, holiday vendors to shop with, photo opportunities with Santa Claus (please note that due to Covid-19, Santa will be behind plexiglass during photo opportunities to keep visitors safe), and even a carnival. Note that the carnival requires an all-access wristband which can be purchased online or when you arrive at the box office.
It’s also important to note that Sugar Land Holiday Lights will be taking additional precautions this year to keep visitors safe.
“We will be following all COVID-19 safety protocols throughout Holiday Lights – all attendees and staff will be required to wear a mask while inside the facility and will have their temperature checked upon entry. Sanitation stations will be located around Constellation Field for the event and the Skeeters will also be enforcing social distancing measures recommended by the CDC,” a statement from the event organizers says.
All in all, this lights display and holiday event really offers something for everyone. It’s great for kids and adults alike.
