Houston Ballet Academy Summer Camp 2023
Houston Ballet Academy (HBA) provides high-quality ballet training since its establishment in 1955. Through its various programs, the Academy has trained over 1,000 students annually, providing them with a path from their first introduction to movement through to a complete course of ballet study.
As summer approaches, the Academy is gearing up for another year of its highly anticipated Summer Program, where students will have the opportunity to explore the art of ballet in a creative and inspirational environment.

“Children’s Workshops at Houston Ballet Academy are a wonderful way to learn about the artistry and magic of ballet, regardless of experience level! Throughout the week, students work together to choreograph a showcase dance alongside the teacher, and during craft time get to talk about what they learned, build relationships, and connect their dancing with visual art. My favorite part of the workshops is the last day when students share the dance they have been working on! Positive energy and creativity pour out of their brave, young minds, and it is such a joyful experience to witness and be a part of!”
The Academy offers a diverse range of programs for different age groups. The classes are carefully crafted to ensure that children have fun while learning about dance, and are taught in a safe, nurturing environment.
Houston Ballet Academy also offers a range of year-round programs for Preschool, Pre-Professional, and Professional level students. These programs are designed to cater to different age groups and skill levels, providing students with a comprehensive dance education that prepares them for a career in dance or a lifelong love of the art.

Houston Ballet Academy Summer Camp 2023
Week-long summer workshops for children ages 4-8, themed-based on popular story ballets in Houston Ballet’s repertoire. No prior experience is necessary for any of these Children’s Workshops and no auditions required.
SWAN LAKE
- Dates: May 30-June3, 2023
- Ages 4 – 5: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Ages 6 – 8: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Tuition: $400.00; due at the time of registration.
- Tuition includes 2 tickets to Houston Ballet’s Swan Lake matinee performance on Saturday June 17, 2023.
THE NUTCRACKER WORKSHOP
- Dates: August 7-11, 2023
- Ages 4 – 5: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Ages 6 – 8: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Tuition: $400.00; due at the time of registration.
- Tuition includes 2 tickets to Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker performance on either November 26th at 6:30 pm or December 10th at 6:30 pm.

BOYS SUMMER WORKSHOP
Houston Ballet Academy Summer Camp 2023
This workshop is open to male-identifying dancers ages 8-15. Students will learn the necessary skills to become strong dancers.
- Dates: August 7-11, 2023
- Ages 8 – 12 (with little to no experience): 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM
- Ages 10 – 15 (with at least 3 years experience): 3:15 PM – 5:45 PM
- Tuition: $295.00; due at the time of registration.

PRESCHOOL OPEN HOUSE – MAY 7, 2023
Houston Ballet Academy invites prospective students to join this fun and FREE in-person introduction to Houston Ballet Academy’s Preschool Program.
The Preschool Open House is for students ages 2 – 6 years old (as of 05/7/2023). The in-person Preschool Open House will include a 30-minute class, immediately followed by a Q&A discussion with Preschool Program Faculty and Academy Registrar Carla Cortez.
Class times are as follows:
- 2 Years Old: 11:00 AM
- 3-4 Years Old: 12:00 PM
- 5-6 Years Old: 1:00 PM
