Have you ever wanted to watch ice come to life in a live performance? Well, you’ve got your opportunity because the first-ever Houston Ice Festival will be at Saint Arnold Brewing Company on February 1 from 11 am to 7 pm.
Watch as live ice sculpting competitions take place in this interactive ice sculpting battle as multiple sculptors put their talents on display.
The ice sculpting competition will feature four sculptors from across the U.S. all competing for the People’s Choice Award.
The sculptors include Houston native Rolando De La Garza, aka Reverend Butter, Buddy “Burr” Rassmussen from California, visual artist Don Lowing from Philadelphia, and Thomas J. Neary, “TJ” from N.Y.C.
The items sculptors will use in this live performance include chainsaw, chisels and blow torches transforming ice blocks into magnificent pieces of artwork.
They each will have four hours to create their art related to the theme “Tour Around the World.” The winner will be announced at 5 pm.
