Houston Restaurant Weeks returns August 1 as the single largest fundraiser for Houston Food Bank. This huge local event offers Houstonians a great opportunity to try some of Houston’s amazing restaurants at a more affordable price.
The bonus is Houston Food Bank receives $3 – $7 of every meal. This year, 240+ restaurants have signed on to participate, with more continuing to join through July 31.
Here’s how it works:
- 2-3 course lunch: $20 ($3 donation to Houston Food Bank)
- 2-3 course brunch: $22 ($3 donation to Houston Food Bank)
- 3-4 course dinner: $35 – $45 ($5, $7 donation providing up to 21 meals)
Houston Restaurant Weeks is promoted as a reservation-only event, though some restaurants may accept walk-ins at their discretion.
I’m sure you’ll find your favorite fine dining restaurants and casual spots on the list with names such as Brennan’s of Houston, Canopy, benjy’s, Perry’s Steakhouse, Backstreet Cafe, Downtown Aquarium, El Tiempo, B&B Butchers, Common Bond Café and Bakery, Bistro Menil and hundreds more. Once again, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is participating with a special dining menu for the occasion. Several Cypress-area restaurants are in the mix with Jaxton’s Bistro, Alicia’s Mexican, Dario’s American Cuisine and Marvino’s Italian Kitchen.
A record-breaking $2 million was raised in last year’s event. 100% of the funds raised go directly to the food bank, thanks to amazing volunteers. Since the beginning the event has raised more than $9.6 million.
