Houston stores open on Christmas Day

For better or worse, shopping and Christmas go hand-in-hand. While we all try to plan and get our shopping done early, there are always those last-minute additions you have to run out and buy – sometimes on Christmas Day.

In general, most stores close up early on Christmas Eve and stay closed until December 26. But there are a handful of exceptions. Luckily, there are a few stores open on Christmas Day in Houston.

 

Retail Stores Open on Christmas Day

CVS: most locations open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Family Dollar: hours vary by location

Starbucks: most of the coffee chain’s locations will be open on Christmas Day.

Walgreens: all locations open normal hours

It’s also worth pointing out that many convenience stores are typically open on Christmas Day, which can be handy in a pinch when you need some basic items.

 

Grocery Stores Open on Christmas Day

Most of the major Houston grocery stores, like HEB and Kroger, are closed Christmas Day, but there are still a few select places open that might be helpful for those in a bind.

Circle K: open normal hours

CVS: open normal hours (pharmacy hours vary by location)

H-Mart: both the Blalock and Bellaire locations will be open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Randalls: open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Walgreens: all locations open normal hours.

It’s also worth pointing out that many convenience stores are typically open on Christmas Day, which can be handy in a pinch when you need some basic items.
