The holiday season is upon us, and that means it’s time for winter camps! From sports camps to education STEM camps, there are many great winter camps in Houston across all categories.

Pine Cove’s Winterfest is a great place to make new friends as kids enjoy days full of fun, music, and holiday activities. Open to members and non- members, this “Holly Daze” camp is jam-packed with activities including obstacle courses, trampolines, games, and more. Options include full-day and extended hours for potty-trained children ages 3- 12.

In addition to their regular programs, Bach to Rock offers week, partial week, and single-day camps during school breaks. Most camps are from ages 7 and up, except for Record a Studio Demo which is from Preschool through 1st grade, and Recording Arts: Pro Tools & Production for ages 10 and up. Your child is taught by real musicians and learn to play and sing real songs, using teamwork and harmonizing. Kids are encouraged to create their own original compositions as well as learn choreography and other essential music- business skills.

Kids get to experience tumbling and gymnastics in a “just like home” setting. No worries about the kids spending too much time on electronics- it’s an electronics-free zone! Kids will spend the days imagining, playing, and laughing. K2 also offers homework help, board games, arts and crafts, music, outside play, character building, and more.

Beginning at age 4, kids can attend a variety of soccer camps with the Houston Dash and Dynamo. Camps focus on a range of specific skill sets from goalkeeping to player development. Full-day and half-day camps are available as well as financial assistance. Special pricing is afforded for Season Ticket holders, group rates, and sibling enrollment. Prices vary greatly depending on which class you choose. They offer ongoing programs as well as a special Thanksgiving camp. They also offer single-day FREE classes!

There’s no Winter Break camp like the Houston Zoo! Each camp has its own theme. Camps are broken down by age and learn a variety of animal-based basics like how to build a safe animal habitat and how to observe animal behavior. They also offer before-camp programming for those whose parents need to be dropped off a little earlier.

This holiday season, send the kids to space! Kids will get a load of educational activities, tour the Space Center exhibits including Mission Mars, watch live presentations and films, and go behind the scenes at the Johnson Space Center. Let the kids tumble into the holidays! The kids will keep active with sports, trampolines, and more. This has been rated one of the best holiday camps in Houston and was featured on Great Day Houston. They offer full- day and half- day camps. Let the kids explore through Science. They’ll get hands-on experience with glowing volcanoes, fossils and minerals, forensic science, planets, micro-biomes, and much more. Kids will complete between 6-8 projects per day and can take home many of them. Enroll more than one kid and you can get a 10% discount! There are two locations- one in Cypress and The Woodlands. Camps are offered morning and afternoon with 3 or 4-day options available this holiday season.

At Camp Tree House, imagination comes to life. Every day is filled with a different arts and crafts project, drawing, dress up games, storytime, music, and more. The camp offers morning camps from 9 am to noon, and afternoon camps from 1-4 pm by special request if there are at least 6 campers in attendance. All campers must be at least 3 years old and fully potty trained, and the entire campus is nut-free. They offer daily and weekly rates.

If your kids love being outdoors and playing team sports, this is the camp for you. Camps run in the mornings from 9 am to noon. All camps are held outdoors at Post Oak Little League fields on campus of TH Rogers School.

Little Scientists can explore chemistry, the water cycle, and engineering. Holiday camps are for kids ages Pre-K through 5th grade. Younger kids are able to attend during the mornings and older kids can play all day. Before and after camp care is also available.

STEAM Camps include STEM plus the arts- robotics, drones, 3D printing, movie production, engineering, science, and more. Camp options include full and half- day programs plus before and after- camp programs. Campers can range in age from Preschool through Middle School and catered lunches are optional. Camps range from monthly memberships to one-day classes. Classes are held at two different locations in the Energy Corridor and Westside Montessori.

Your local Y is a great resource for many programming options plus childcare. The YMCA uses play to teach leadership skills, values, conflict resolution, and more. Members of the YMCA get discount pricing and prices vary per location. Camps are available for ages 5- 15.

For kids ages 5- 10, dive into Science and nature-related topics with a different theme each day. There will be hands-on experiments, investigations, games, crafts, and more. Volunteer teen counselors help run groups so that children can get individual attention and constant supervision. Before and after camp- care is also available.
