I think we can agree that we’re all collectively looking for a breath of fresh air. The past year has been nothing short of repetitive: living and working in the same place, with the same people – void of change. Yet from this period of time, a surge of creativity has come to the surface with people focusing on DIY, learning new things, and taking on new hobbies, like gardening and home renovations. If you’re looking to improve the places and spaces dear to you, the Katy Home & Garden Show and Spring Gift Market is the place to be!
For 15 years running, the Katy Home & Garden Show has been an attraction for anyone with a fistful of ideas to renovate the home and garden that needs some advice and how-tos on where to start and what to do. You will also see actual products that will help you brainstorm how you can update your kitchen, bath, or outdoor living space. We’ve been so used to seeing grays and dark colors and the explosion of colors you’ll see at the show will get you excited to decorate and host family and friends again.
If you’re looking for advice, the show also features an “Ask the Experts” showcase – all questions allowed! Trying to arrange the perfect gallery wall? With a range of experts like How-to be Wall Wise with Archway Gallery to tips on how to be your own builder to freeze recovery for the yard the experts have you covered.
And even if you’re not redoing the home at the moment, a large portion of the show will be dedicated to retail therapy. For the shoppers of the group, the Spring Gift Market is a must-see at the show. If you’re looking for a birthday gift, anniversary present, or something for Mother’s Day (hint: it’s May 9th), the Spring Gift Market is the place to be. From farmhouse décor to holiday décor and monogrammed children’s accessories, you’ll also find unique gifts made from local artisans and cute accessories like this ensemble from NY Texas Style (we won’t tell if you buy it for yourself.)
The Katy Home & Garden Show will take place on March 27th – March 28th at the Merrell Center arena from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., respectively. This year, the show is focused on helping those affected by the winter storm and is providing free admission for all. The event will require facial coverings, so make sure you pack your brightest masks before heading out. Before you go, make sure you’ve entered to win a $250 show shopping spree during the event!
In addition to free admission and the chance to win some cash, the show is focusing on The Brookwood Community as this year’s charity beneficiary, a non-profit focused on serving adults with disabilities. Make sure you keep your appetite up during the show because all proceeds from water or bags of chip sales at the inside concession will be donated directly to the non-profit. Have extra clothes or supplies you’re looking to give way? They’ll also be hosting a supply drive.
Spring is a reminder to us all of how wonderful change can really be. I don’t know about you, but after a visit to the Home & Garden Show, I’ll be ready to revamp my home and outdoor spaces to host family and friends safely again.
