The holiday season brings some of the best parts of the year: a break from sweltering summer temperatures, great deals on shopping, and scores of holiday events sure to warm the heart and get you in the holiday spirit. Houston’s own Levy Park green space has announced dates and activities for its Levy Park Holiday Festival, and this looks like one holiday you and your family don’t want to miss.

Levy Park just set the dates for its popular Levy Park Holiday Festival: Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd. Levy Park was recently named the winner of the prestigious Urban Land Institute’s 2018 Urban Open Space Award, and events like the Holiday Festival are one of the reasons why.

“Levy Park’s free Holiday Festival features all the classic elements of the holidays; music, food, shopping, and community,” says Stephanie Kiouses, Park Director for Levy Park. “Guests can also enjoy a twist on the hallmarks of the park in our family photo booth, DIY craft station, and dog ugly sweater contest. This is one event people won’t want to miss.”

The Holiday Festival is shaping up to be one of the best ways to have some weekend fun in Houston this holiday season without breaking the bank. The festival with be open from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. and feature a free DIY craft station with Pop Shop America, a free Santa Paws photo booth and Ugly Sweater contest for your furry friends, Space City Sound, holiday-themed food and beverages for sale, and a Holiday Market featuring arts, crafts, and retail vendors. On Saturday, December 1st, the Phillip Hall Singers will perform a mix of holiday favorites while on Sunday, December 2nd, the Houston Bronze Ensemble hand bell choir will perform.
