Levy Park is one of Houston’s best parks to visit. There’s plenty of stuff to enjoy there, from ping pong tables to a play space for kids to a community garden and more. And on top of that, Levy Park hosts a number of free weekly events, including storytimes for kids and workouts, to name just a couple. Now, in this time of social distancing, the popular local park is taking some of its programming online so families can enjoy them from the comfort of their home.
Levy Park On-Demand will launch Monday, March 30, and families will be able to access the remarkable family-friendly programming the park is known for without leaving home. That means story times, free workouts, games, and more.
Families will be able to find this content on the Levy Park Facebook page and YouTube channel. You’ll be able to tune in daily starting at 10 am to find free a variety of free programming for all ages to enjoy. You can see the online programming schedule for the next four weeks below:
Park Remains Open During This Time
It’s worth pointing out that Levy Park is still open right now, and you can visit the grounds. However, the children’s play area, dog park, and restrooms are closed at this time for the safety of everyone, and all park events (concerts, story times, etc.) are canceled until further notice, thus the move to online programming.
Additionally, the park’s great restaurants Woodshed Smokehouse and Loveshack are open for delivery and takeout dining options from Wednesday through Sunday each week.
If you do visit the park, please make sure you practice proper social distancing.
