Machine Gun Kelly – The two-time Billboard Music and American Awardee
Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly, was born in Houston, Texas, but was raised in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Machine Gun Kelly began making music when he was a teenager and rose to prominence in 2009 as the first rapper to win his night as an amateur at his theater at Apollo in Harlem. In 2011, Kelly rapidly transitioned from producing his own mixtapes to collaborating with his major labels, releasing his debut album, Lace Up, the same year. Kelly soon began collaborating with acclaimed artists such as Waka He Flocka His Flame, which featured on his first album with the song “Wild Boy”. In 2013, he was working on the mixtape The Black Flag, which featured French Montana, Pusha T., Wiz Khalifa, and more.
His second album, General Admission, an autobiography sharing a personal dark period that his fans quickly resonated with, reached number four on the 2015 Billboard 200 and was an R&B/Hip-Hop record. It topped the charts. Two years later, Kelly released his third full-length album, Bloom. The album included a cast of other music icons such as Camila Cabello, Quavo, and Ty Dolla $ign. Bloom was another success for Kelly and was certified Gold.
Machine Gun Kelly continued to produce and release album after album, with six successful albums including the first number-one album of 2020, Tickets to My Downfall. 200 and Top Rock Album charts, and was nominated for her first ever GRAMMY® Best Rock Album. Machine Gun Kelly has taken the music scene by storm with his unique alternative approach to music and his devoted following. His success is far from over and to date, he has received many accolades including two Billboard Music Awards and he has two American Music Awards.
