Who doesn’t love LEGO? The world’s most popular plastic construction toys have become a worldwide sensation, leading to amusement parks, film and television franchises, video games, and of course millions and millions of LEGO sets sold each year. For many families, though, LEGO sets can be out of financial reach at the holidays when kids deserve them the most. For that reason, LEGO has launched the #BuildToGive campaign in order to provide LEGO sets to give children around the world the chance to play, build, and learn. Want to help give the GIFT of LEGO? All you have to do is build.
That’s right: if you’d like to help the LEGO Group donate a set to local charity partners, all you have to do is build a LEGO brick ornament from home or at a LEGO retail store. For every LEGO ornament displayed in-store, shared online, or in the LEGO Life online community, LEGO will donate a LEGO set to a child in need of play.
LEGO has already donated over 100,000 sets so far this year, but the LEGO Group hopes to give 500,000 children the chance to play with LEGO. If you want to be a part of this fun and selfless act of giving, all you have to do is construct your very own LEGO ornament. Full ornament instructions and details can be found online at the #BuildToGive website.
To take part in #BuildToGive this year, visit the LEGO store at the Galleria, 5015 Westheimer, Suite A3319 between November 5 and December 13, 2018 and share your ornament. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The holiday season means different things to different people, but one thing remains fairly common: the holidays are a time for selflessness and giving to those who need it most. Break out the LEGO box, build an ornament, and help make a child’s holidays magical this year.
