Things To Do On Memorial Day Weekend In Houston
Memorial Day Tribute featuring Monarch Chamber Players in Concert at Sugar Land Town Square
In celebration of Memorial Day, Sugar Land Town Square will host a special live performance by the Monarch Chamber Players, an ensemble of classical musicians. The event will include a wind quintet and feature patriotic standbys by composers such as Scott Joplin, John Phillip Sousa, William Grant Still, Valerie Coleman, Samuel Barber, and Amy Beach.

The First Annual Memorial Day Weekend Zydeco Bash
For the very first year, you can go down to Galveston to kick off the summer at the First Annual Memorial Day Weekend Zydeco Bash featuring Jeremy Fruge & The Zydeco Hotboyz with 97.9 DJ GT Mayne. You can celebrate Memorial Day at the Galveston Convention Center with live Zydeco music, food, and drinks.

Homegrown Music & Art Festival 2021
For all three days of Memorial Day Weekend, you can go see the Homegrown Music & Art Festival, which will include over 50 bands on three stages, art vendors, and plenty of food. The venue is open to guests of all ages and camping is available on the grounds for a fee.
When: Memorial Day Weekend – Saturday, the 29th, Sunday, the 30th, and Monday, the 31st, starting at noon each day.

Memorial Day Remembrance at George Ranch Historical Park
For Houstonians who want to take a more historical approach to celebrating Memorial Day, George Ranch Historical Park is holding a remembrance ceremony in honor of our fallen heroes. There will be a gun salute at high noon and a wreath laying at the Davis Graveyard to recognize brave soldiers lost during the Texas Revolution, Civil War, WWI, and WWII.ther Memorial Day activities will include baking demonstrations, crafts, and a donut eating contest where the winner takes home the Golden Cowboy Boot Trophy.

Memorial Day at the Woodlands
For fun things to do on Memorial Day with your family, head to Town Green Park in the Woodlands, where there will be an event honoring those who served in the armed forces. The celebration will include live music, children’s activities, and, to end the night with a bang, an amazing fireworks display. Concessions will be available for purchase. Guests are asked to wear masks and social distance, but are encouraged to bring coolers, blankets, and lawn chairs.

The Parkway at Regent Square Market Day
As a fun Memorial Day activity, you can visit Regent Square’s weekly outdoor market day at the Parkway. In honor of the patriotic holiday, the market will feature Americana-themed art on May 30th. The market will also include local vendors, a vintage American flag painting activity, and of course, music and food. The first 50 people to attend will receive complimentary painting kits, which will then be up for sale for the rest of the day. Everyone who comes is encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask as appropriate.

Memorial Day in Memorial City
To celebrate Memorial Day in style, head over to Memorial City Mall, where you can watch members of the Commemorative Air Force fly vintage WWII aircraft right over your head. Afterward, you can enjoy some live music, face painting, a balloon artist, and plenty of other fun Memorial Day activities.

Lone Star Flight Museum Memorial Day Weekend
Starting on Saturday, you can celebrate Memorial Day weekend at the Lone Star Flight Museum with plenty of hands-on activities for kids, but the best Memorial Day events are on the day itself. Starting at 10 a.m., the museum will be running free tours for the Douglas DC-3 vintage airliner and the Howard 250, a 1950s corporate aircraft. The museum will also be offering free flight simulators, letting guests get the chance to feel what it’s like to fly a plane firsthand.

Buffalo Soldiers National Museum Memorial Day Fest
The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum is hosting its Memorial Day Fest with veteran-owned businesses, Memorial Day activities for children, a BBQ food truck, a chance to take photos with troopers, and much more. The museum is dedicated to highlighting the sacrifices of lesser-known heroes of America’s wars and is a great place to both celebrate Memorial Day and educate kids about the history they may have missed out on in school.

Memorial Day Monday Celebration at Lincoln Bar
For anyone who wants to celebrate Memorial Day in Houston and just have a massive party on a Monday night, the Lincoln Bar has got you covered. Food offerings will include tacos and barbecue, and entertainment will be include sumo suit wrestling, a DJ, and a petting zoo. While it is not one of the most typical Memorial Day events in Houston, it should be one of the most memorable ones.
