Reggae Vibrations: An All-Star Lineup at Miller Outdoor Theatre
Immerse yourself in the warm Caribbean breeze and the tantalizing scent of sea air. The stage will come alive with three of reggae’s most influential bands—The Legendary Wailers, Third World, and The Skatalites. Prepare to be entranced by hits like “Get Up, Stand Up,” “I Shot the Sheriff,” “No Woman, No Cry,” and many more!
Julian Junior Marvin, who joined Bob Marley & The Wailers in 1977, has been a seminal part of the band’s history. His debut was monumental, contributing to the acclaimed Exodus LP, which Time Magazine later crowned as the “Album of the Century.” His artistry earned him a spot in Guitar World Magazine’s “Top 100 Guitarists of All Time” in 2002, specifically for his guitar solo on “Africa Unite.”
Today, he continues to honor Bob Marley’s legacy, performing classics just the way Bob intended them to be heard.

Miller Outdoor Theatre – 1923 to 2023

Miller Outdoor Theatre
Back in May 12, 1923, Miller Outdoor Theatre was dedicated “To the Arts of Music, Poetry, Drama and Oratory”. Its first performance, “Springtime of Our Nation,” was a grand pageant featuring a whopping 2,500 performers. Today, the theatre boasts an impressive eight months of programming with 130 diverse performances that cater to both Houston locals and visitors.
As Miller Outdoor Theatre celebrates its 100th anniversary, Managing Director Cissy Segall Davis reflected on the long journey the venue has taken. While the theatre remains free for the public to enjoy, Davis stressed that maintaining this cultural gem requires more than just love. The Miller Theatre Advisory Board has launched a capital campaign to raise $12.5 million dollars for renovations and improvements to enhance the visitor experience.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help achieve the master plan for Miller Outdoor Theatre. As part of the #celebratemiller100 campaign, you can make a $100 contribution to support this historic venue and its future generations of visitors.
