Sur La Table Summer Camps in Houston

Kids and Teens Summer Series by Sur La Table calls on all young chefs to get ready for five fun-filled days of cooking, learning, and laughter at the Sur La Table kitchens.

What: A new exhibit launching at the gallery this weekend is an exploration of Black migration, emancipation and freedom brought forth by the multidisciplinary artist, Lauren Cross. The installations which include videos, prints, digitally fabricated fibers and more bring together stories of the historic journey of Juneteenth and are inspired by lyrics of spirituals, jazz and others songs of freedom.

What: Yet another exhibit coming up at the arts center is Liminal, featuring the works of print artist Cathie Kayser that focus on her experiences in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, the isolation that followed, and the range of emotions and struggles that she has observed and experienced herself through the last couple of years. Her work explores monotypes made from disposable paper gowns and other media that evolve into new series of prints.
