Spring Break Destination Celebration at Children’s Museum Houston

Kids can have a blast all week long, with non-stop adventures designed just for them. Bungee trampolines, a glow maze, a Pi Day fight, and a 3-D photo booth are just the beginning. Kids can also enjoy daily special performances. The line-up includes some guests from the Spider-Verse, Story-Time with Peter Pan, Break Free Hip Hop School, Storybook Opera, jugglers, magicians, artists, dancing dogs, and much, much more.

Have a FUNomenal Spring Break at Discovery Green

In partnership with the Japan-America Society of Houston (JASH), Levy Park is inviting kids to learn a new origami (paper-folding) technique every day this week! Each session will include beginner and intermediate levels of difficulty to give everyone a chance to enjoy themselves.

This week, families can visit the historic Bayou Bend house museum and enjoy some kid-friendly activities while they’re there. Depending on the day, kids might get to see a petting zoo, learn about wetlands, or see a flower puppet show. No matter when you visit, though, young guests will have a chance to play games from American history like shuttlecock and quoits, make nature rubbings, enjoy arts and crafts, and visit the lovely Bayou Bend gardens.

Best Events and Activities in Houston this Weekend with Kids – SATURDAY

Saturday Sketching in the Galleries at MFAH

Families are invited to join a teaching artist in the galleries at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston for a morning of sketching and taking inspiration from the artworks on display. Materials will be provided.
When: Saturday, March 19th, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe Performance with A.D. Players at Levy Park

Don’t miss this exciting free performance of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, the story of children exploring an old house in the countryside and discovering a fantastic world with talking animals, an evil queen, and a chilling problem that only they can solve.

Family Day at Bayou Bend “Women in America”

Enjoy free admission to Bayou Bend and an exhibit centered around the history of women in America. A costumed interpreter will act as Texas art pioneer Elisabet Ney, there will be a bilingual picture book reading about a Dominican-American girl, a dance performance about the role of the matriarch in Indigenous American life, focus on the suffrage movement, and arts and crafts.
When: Sunday, March 20th, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Family Zone on the Go at MFAH

On select Sundays, families can enjoy an extra bit of fun at The Museum of Fine Arts Houston when the Family Art Cart rolls on by. In it, there are kid-friendly activities to help inspire children to explore their creativity. Materials will be provided, and staff in the area will answer questions about the artwork. Look out for Storybook Circles at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., which will give kids a chance to see connections between art and stories.

Houston Grand Opera Sing! Move! Play!  at Levy Park

A teaching artist from the Houston Grand Opera will lead children in age-appropriate choreography set to music from classic operas to teach them all about singing and rhythmic movement as well as to help engage them creatively. This week, kids will work their way through the iconic songs from The Magic Flute.
