Pokemon Palooza

Has there ever been a time when Pokémon haven’t been wildly popular? Not in many of our lifetimes. The pocket-sized collectible monsters are a true worldwide media phenomenon, spawning cartoons, comic books, video games, and an infinite amount of merchandise of all kinds. Pokémon will take to the big screen in their first live-action feature film this month, and the Children’s Museum of Houston is honoring these adorable monsters with Pokémon Palooza, an all-day celebration of all things Pokémon. Gotta catch ‘em all!

Pokémon Palooza will feature special Pokémon-themed activities for Pokémon fans of all ages to enjoy. Pokémon Supercharge will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the museum and will allow attendees to take selfies with Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbasaur and Pikachu. For the more competitive Pokémon trainers, the event will also feature Pokémon Trading Card Interactive in which artist Christian Navarrete will show you which Pokémon to choose to take on any opponents. The Trading Card Interactive begins at 11 a.m. in the Alexander Art Academy while onsite sign-up begins at 10 a.m. For ages 5+.

Finally, the Pikachu Ears exhibit will allow attendees to make their own set of Pikachu ears to look like everyone’s favorite Pokémon. There will be materials available all day in Junktion.

Pokémon Palooza takes place Saturday, May 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 pm at the Children’s Museum of Houston and is included with regular admission to the museum. Admission starts at $12 per person and $11 for seniors 65+ and for active duty military personnel.  Children under one and Museum Members receive free admission.
