Over two hundred years after its publication, The Nutcracker remains one of the most popular Christmas stories of all time. While The Nutcracker is most often performed as a ballet featuring an iconic score by Tchaikovsky, the story of The Nutcracker is based on an 1816 short story by E.T.A. Hoffman.
