There are always free events at Willow Fork Drainage District’s Central Green Park in Katy. September is a big month featuring WFDD Talent Showcase, Festival of Hope for Harvey relief, outdoor movies, live music and more!

Tai Chi — 9 am
Engage in Tai Chi Tuesday mornings in Katy. This slow and gentle exercise — perfect for all levels– is a Chinese exercise system that uses slow body movements to achieve a state of relaxation.

A Night of Community Worship — 7 pm
Second Baptist hosts evening worship at Central Green Park to unite the community after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.

September 8
Home School Spanish class — 11 am
Children are invited to Conversational Spanish, taught the second Friday and last Friday of the month at 11 am. This is for school-age children.

Live Music: Susan Hickman—  7 pm
Enjoy a free outdoor concert featuring the music of Susan Hickman playing her unique blend of rocking, uplifting country.

K4K Play 60 — 10 am
The mission of Play 60 is to create the most active and healthy bunch in the next generation. K4K Play 60 registration begins at 9 am with outdoor play from 10 am – 11 am. Kickoff 4 Kids promotes health and fitness with a number of partner organizations.

Festival of Hope —  noon – 9 pm
This special Hurricane Harvey relief event features a day of live music including Cooper Wade. The Willow Fork Drainage District has teamed up with LaCenterra, Katy Rocks, the National Hispanic Professional Organization Katy, Listo Translating Services and More, The Amobi Okoye Foundation Tackle Hunger, Clothed by Faith, Bullritos Katy, Audio Dynamite, and the Katy Contemporary Art Museum to provide relief for Hurricane Harvey victims.  

September 29
Home School Spanish class — 11 am
Children are invited to Conversational Spanish, taught the second Friday and last Friday of the month at 10 am. This is for school-age children.

September 30
WFDD Talent Showcase — 4 pm – 9 pm
Local artists have a unique opportunity to be heard by two booking agents, win hundreds of dollars in prizes, show off their talents and enjoy a live music performance from Rustic Reverb. The public gets to vote for contestants on the WFDD Central Green Facebook page. Eight finalists will perform at the Talent Showcase September 30.
