Hankering for a Taco Bell 7-Layer Burrito? How about a Nachos Supreme or a Beefy Fritos Burrito? If so, you better hurry. The popular fast-food chain is making one of its biggest changes to the menu by eliminating 11 long-time items beginning Aug. 13.
So, what’s the beef? Taco Bell officials issued a statement saying they’re “simplifying” the menu.
“This evolved menu approach comes after months of analyzing the new way we are running our restaurants. We want to ensure an easy and fast ordering experience for our guests and team members, while simultaneously opening up opportunities for even more innovation,” reads the company statement.
The menu items getting the ax include:
- Grilled Steak Soft Taco
- 7-Layer Burrito
- Nachos Supreme
- Beefy Fritos Burrito
- Spicy Tostada
- Triple Layer Nachos
- Spicy Potato Soft Taco
- Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
- Loaded Grillers (Cheesy Potato, Beefy Nacho)
- Chips & Dips
- Mini Skillet Bowl
The news of the menu changes first hit Reddit, forcing the chain to confirm and issue a statement.
After Aug. 13, Taco Bell officials said they could bring back some fan favorites on a limited basis. They added the simplified menu will allow the chain to introduce new items that fall into other categories, including plant-based diets.
There are dozens of Taco Bell locations all across the Greater Houston area.
