You don’t need to travel far to be transported to a Winter Wonderland. Galveston always does Christmas in a big way with Dickens on the Strand, Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens, Polar Express Train Rides, and numerous other exciting holiday events and attractions that will be held in a safe manner for 2020. The weather down here is often so mild that you could even enjoy a walk along the beach during the holidays.
This popular Hill Country town hosts a number of unique Christmas events, including ice skating, a totally decked out Main Street with tons of holiday shopping, and more. You have to see the 26-foot-tall German Christmas Pyramid with moving wooden figures and a spinning windmill. In fact, Southern Living magazine called Fredericksburg the “Best Small Town for Christmas in the South” and Uptown Magazine said it was “The Christmasiest Town in Texas”.
3. New Braunfels
Head just 20 miles northeast of San Antonio for a wonderful Christmas experience in New Braunfels. You’ll get the charming small town feel, but there will be tons of events and attractions going on for you to enjoy, including Santa’s Ranch, Weihnachtsmarkt Christmas Market, Christkindlmarkt open-air Christmas Market, wine events, parades, and more.
Grapevine hosts hundreds of Christmas events and attractions throughout the holiday season, including a man-made Snowland, ice sculptures, ice slides, train rides, and a whole lot more. The city sparkles with millions of lights each night during the holiday season, so take a walk along Historic Main Street and enjoy the Christmas spirit while doing a little shopping in the “Christmas Capital of Texas”.

This charming small town in the Hill Country is a great place to getaway during the holidays. Their Holiday Trail of Lights is a free event with acres of light displays, caroling, s’more making stations, and more.
Every holiday season, Cleburne transforms into a Christmas town right out of a postcard. This North Texas town gets all decked out with gorgeous lights and decorations, and it hosts some great events including the Lighted Christmas Parade, walking tours of historic Victorian and Colonial homes, chamber orchestra Christmas concerts, and more. The local park is even filled with 3/5 million lights! It’s a great place for a small town Texas Christmas vacation.
7. San Antonio
